Students of UW-La Crosse Host Civil Discourse Day
This event recognizes that civil discourse lies at the heart of our democratic republic. Our system was not designed for uniform agreement, but for principled disagreement expressed with respect, mutual understanding, and a shared commitment to the common good.
April 30, 1789 was the inauguration of President George Washington. Throughout his career, he emphasized national unity, the importance of private morality in public life, and a dedication to the public good over factional division.
Event Details: Date: Thursday, April 30, 2026; Location: Room 3120 in the Student Union at UW-La Crosse; Time: 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM; Details regarding visitor parking will be shared—stay tuned to this website!
